Patricia Ramos holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences at University of Liège (CEDEM/ISHS) and is a researcher at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO, Ecuador), where she completed a Master Degree in Social Sciences, with speciality in Sociology. Her doctoral thesis is entitled “Women, circuits and borders in the south of Ecuador”, directed by Jean-Michel Lafleur and Gioconda Herrera. Her research is inspired in gender and migration studies approach, as so it discusses the subjective boundaries of women in the contexts of migration. The goal of the research is two folded: First, it seeks to explore changes or continuities in social and gender identities of women (migrant or not) who live or travel in areas of diverse and complex migrations and secondly it analyzes the impact of these dynamics on their lives as women and local actors.
