Objectives and methodology: The project seeks to fill a gap in analysing recent efforts by local authorities to coordinate and learn from each other. It tries to synthesize the in-depth and concrete experience of local actors in public administration, in local councils, social partners and NGOs and migrants’ organisations. And it provides a portfolio/casebook of initiatives and guidelines for good practice. The first module of research is on housing. (access, quality and affordability for migrants). The second module focuses on diversity policy in employment and service provision. In particular the work methods of CLIP are differ to those of similar city networks, as it is based on a joint cooperation between city experts and a group of research centres in the description and evaluation of local policies and practices on various aspects related to the integration of migrants. Outputs of the project include examples of good practice, guidelines for good practice and policy recommendations for a more coordinated approach to migration policy on the European level.
In the framework of the first and second module, the CEDEM has produced case-studies on the following cities: Liège, Antwerp, Marseille, Valencia and Luxembourg.
