Plane:
Several airports are located near Liège. Connections, flight frequency and fares will vary according to your departure city.
- The closest airport, but limited number of destinations: Liège Airport
- An Airport located in the Netherlands, but not so far from Liège: Maastricht Airport
- The largest and best connected airport of Belgium: Brussels Airport
- An Airport with many low cost options: Charleroi/Brussels South Airport
Once arrived at one of these airports, the easiest solution is to go to the Liège-Guillemins station, than to follow the instructions detailed below.
At the Brussels airport, the train station is located below the terminal (level -1).
There you can take a train to Liège Guillemins.
Pay attention that you need to change the train in Brussels Noord
Public transportation (train/bus):
The easiest way to reach Liège by train is to arrive at the Liège-Guillemins station, that is well connected to many Belgian, Dutch, German, French and British cities. The Belgian rail company (SNCB/NMBS) provides both national and international travel information (timetables, route planner, fees, ticket booking, etc.).
Once at the station, you can either walk (25-30 minutes) or catch the bus right in front of the station. The easiest way is to use line 1, 4 or 48. This line has frequent service (one bus every 10 minutes or so) from 05:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and will take about 15-20 minutes to get you to « Place Saint-Lambert », 300m far from the Conference Venue. Ticket fare is around 2 €. Additional information can be obtained from TEC, the Liège bus company.
You may also take a local train (no additional fee) to Liège-Palais Train Station (3min. from Liège-Guillemins), and walk 200 meters to the city center.
Car:
A well-developed networks of motorways (E40, E25, E42, E313) makes access to Liège by car fairly easy.
The nearest public parking slots (paying) are parking Charles Magnette and parking Cathédrale.
