The Montreal Protocol has recently turned 30. This was the opportunity to look back and to identify the contributions in the field and the laboratory which led to the success of this international treaty. In a paper published in Compte Rendu Geoscience, Reimann et al. highlight the essential contributions of the global measurement networks over these 30 years, among which the one of GIRPAS at the Jungfraujoch Scientific Station.
