Mare Ainsaar Mare Ainsaar works as senior research fellow in sociology and social policy at the Institute of Social Studies at University of Tartu. She defended her PhD in 2004 in University of Turku (Finland) and MSc at university of Tartu. Her main research fields are related to population and social policy issues. She is an author of numerous papers about family policy development, comparative family policy and comparative demography. She is since 2003 a coordinator of European Social Survey in Estonia. She had worked and visited several international research centres and has been a team leader and member of a team for more 20 international and national research projects. She had shared her knowledge with stake holders while working for the government of Estonia. She had been a counsellor on family and population policy issues for three different ministers in Estonia. |

Maarja Saar
Maarja Saar is a post-doctoral researcher at Södertörn University, Sweden, at the department of sociology. She completed her PhD at Södertörn University and her undergraduate degree is from University of Wisconsin, US. Her research interests lie in the area of migration studies, covering wide range of topics such as welfare management, lifestyle migration as well as studying multiple vulnerabilities related to migration. She is also theoretically oriented researcher, with the interest of applying various sociological theories to migration research./nMaarja has also been part of the international project TRANSWEL which focused on the portability of welfare in EU. During her career, Maarja has participated in various migration related conferences, served as a reviewer of academic articles, helped organising a conference and published several academic articles. |
