Elena Barabantseva
Dr Elena Barabantseva is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Manchester (UK). Her research focuses on the questions of Chinese national identity, borders, migration, ethnic politics and Chinese diaspora. Her first book Overseas Chinese, Ethnic Minorities, and Nationalism: De-Centering China (Routledge, 2011) analyses the role of ethnic minorities and overseas Chinese in understanding the contested nature of the Chinese nation. Her current research extends the focus on the borders of Chinese identity by examining marriage migration issues along China’ borders and experimenting with audio-visual research methods. Her publications appeared in the Journal of Contemporary China, Critical Asian Studies, Modern China, International Political Sociology and other peer reviewed journals. |

He Jingwei Dr He Jingwei, Alex is Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, at the Education University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD degree in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Dr He specialises in public policy analysis, health policy and governance and social policy reforms, with particular focus on East Asia. He has published extensively in these areas, contributing articles to leading international journals, including Public Administration Review, The China Quarterly (2013, 2018), Health Policy and Planning (2014, 2016), Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Contemporary China, Social Policy and Administration, Policy and Society, Public Administration and Development, and Ageing and Society. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Asian Public Policy, Executive Member of the East Asian Social Policy Network, and Adjunct Research Fellow of the Center for China and Globalization. |
